| Serves: 1 hour, not including chilling dough |

Amount/Measure/Ingredient:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. lemon zest
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
dash nutmeg

| Preparation:
Beat butter
Add sugar until well blended.
Add egg, juice, zest.
Beat until well blended.
In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients.
Add to butter mixture.
Blend well.
Shape dough into two logs, each 1 1/2" diameter and 6 1/2" long. Wrap each in plastic.
Chill 3 hours or more.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Cut logs into 1/4" thick slices.
Place 1" apart on sheet.
Bake 15 minutes or until edges are light brown.
Cool on wire rack.
Store airtight.
