History: A new way to make spinach and bacon salad. I like the pear and blue
cheese flavor because it blends well with the flavor of bacon!
Description: I like the pear and blue cheese flavor because it blends
well with the flavor of bacon and the dressing give a nice lift to the
spinach.
Preparation time: about 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Amount/Measure/Ingredient
4 cups of spinach, washed and dried
1 pear, peeled and diced
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup French dressing
4 slices bacon, crispy cooked and crumbled, warm
1/2 cup croutons
Procedure:
Cook the bacon and drain on paper towel to absorb the grease.
Tear the spinach into bit size pieces and place in a salad bowl, top with diced
pears, blue cheese. Sprinkle on the dress and toss to mix the ingredients. Top
with crisp warm bacon and croutons.
French Dressing (Vinaigrette)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp dry mustard
3/4 cup olive oil (not extra virgin) may use a blend
1/4 cup cider vinegar
Place everything in a container cover (an old jar works well) and shake, shake
shake!
