GARLIC CROUTONS WITH PARMESAN CHEESE

    Ingredients:

    1 loaf French baguette, split lenghtwise
    2 garlic cloves, peeled and flattened
    4 tbsp. olive oil
    ground black pepper, freshly ground
    4 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, grated

    Procedure:

    Preheat the oven to 450 F.

    Rub the outside crust of the bread all over with the garlic cloves. Cut the bread into 1 1/2 - inch-thick slices and brush the slices with olive oil. Grind some black pepper over the oiled side and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

    Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
