VANILLA BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE

    Vanilla Buttermilk Pound Cake

    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 cup (2 sticks) margarine
    3 cups granulated sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    5 large eggs
    3 cups flour
    1 (6 ounce) can evaporated milk plus
        water to make 1 cup liquid
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon butternut flavoring

    Cream oil, margarine, sugar and salt for 5 minutes.

    Add eggs one at a time. Add flour and milk alternately, ending with flour. Fold in flavoring by hand. Pour into greased tube pan. Place cake in cold oven. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees F. Do not open oven door while baking. Remove cake from pan immediately.
