1 1/2 cups shortening or butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups crushed cornflakes
2 cups coconut
Cream shortening; add sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in flour, baking soda and baking powder thoroughly. Add coconut and cornflakes last. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes. Drop quarter-size pieces of dough onto cookie sheet, then press down lightly.
