![]() Good Cooking since 1995 Chocolate FrostingConvert the recipe Serving size: 4 cups Preparation time: about 30 minutes Amount/Measure/Ingredient: 2 sticks butter or margarine 2 large egg yolks 6 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted 6 cups confectioners sugar, sifted 1 cup cocoa powder, sifted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup heavy cream Preparation: Melt the bars of chocolate in a double boiler or microwave oven, stir in the egg yolks and mix well. Whip the butter or margarine in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy (5-6 minutes). Now beat in the melted chocolate and egg yolk mixture along with the vanilla and heavy cream. Slowly beat in the cocoa powder and confectioners sugar, scrape down the bowl and continue mixing.
